Rebecca Johnston
I am a self-taught artist, designer, musician, rockhound, mineral collector, and nature enthusiast.
I have a degree in fashion design and merchandising as well as experience with graphic/digital design and a love for all things creative.
I have always loved to create, and I began to study realism during the pandemic lockdown. My focus was and still is on realistic mineral portraits in pastels, charcoal, pen, and paint. I have collaborated with mineral photographers to draw from their reference photos. Concurrently I began capturing my own collection to draw and share while also creating mineral portraits of collectors' prized specimens.
While minerals are my main focus, I also enjoy creating other things including portraits and logo designs for clients.
My newest venture is teaching charcoal drawing at North Seattle College.
As long as I am creating, I am living. Thank you for joining me on my journey.
